# Tailgate latch stripped?

Recently I lifted my 1991 Toyota pickup tailgate latch and it came loose (stripped?). I have a frame inside the shell that butts up against the inside wall of the tailgate. It doesn’t appear I can clamp on the small diameter linkage to rotate it. Any thoughts?
