I have a standard transmission 2014 Nissan versa note that I bought with 8 miles on it…trying to teach my son to drive stick is nothing like when I was a kid. After about an hour of stalling my car just shuts down. It once had to go into the shop for a new o2 censor(?) Anyway any advice how to teach a newb driver to drive standard when my car isn’t as tough as they used to make them? I mean I feel stalling was part of the learning process.

Stalling still IS part of the learning process! I taught my wife to drive stick years ago. The first attempt failed because she didn’t WANT to drive the manual trans car we had. I bought one she DID want to drive and that was all it took. Motivation is everything! Good Luck teaching your son.
