Have a 2001 Subaru Forester S with heated seat option. Have wife where heated seat isn’t an option. Driver’s side seat is no longer heating wife. Fuse is fine. Passenger side is working fine. Driver side seatback is heating properly. Any suggestions?

Ditto on my 2004. Everything I’m reading says the heating element(s) needs to be replaced. An estimate I read was$450+. I’m debating whether to get the pads, online for $70+, and try to install them myself. But I’m afraid of messing up the side seat airbag. Anybody else out there?
