I have a 2001 Kia Sephia with 213,000 miles. It’s been a good car to me. Only a couple of the usual issues. nothing major. But Now the stick shift is getting difficult move. I can shift it, but it is more difficult now. And I have noticed this in the last couple of weeks. It seems that if it sits for a day without moving the problem is not as bad. I live in Maine and the winter has been colder than normal so I’m not sure that’s part of the problem.

You may want to check the level/condition of the transmission oil.
