Can anyone suggest what might be the problem with my 2001 Pathfinder. I notice steering wheel shaking/shimmy when driving but not all the time. The vehicle has 125K miles. Is it tie rods, struts, warped rotors, alignment? Would like an idea of what it might be before going to a repair shop. Have had tires rotated and balanced.

Thanks

There are MANY possibilities. Could be tie rods…ball joints, tires…

Impossible to diagnose on the web. You’ll have to take it to mechanic. Preferably a front-end specialist.

Did it happen after you rebalanced and rotated the tires? If so, that’s a clue…
