Sis bought an 08 equinox in 2010 w/20k miles. It had a noise from steering column. My kid bought it several years ago and it still has noise. It has elec steering and boost motor is under dash. I changed u-joint in column and no difference. Is it possible coupler was noisy at 2yrs? How could a coupler be worn @20k miles? I got a used assy and plan was replace it all. Maybe it is plastic coupler item? My daughters saturn had some wierd noises, I’ll know what it is when it breaks. Ended up being a timing chain, Oil lubrication failed. I do not like chasing ghosts. ---

The video is from 5-6 yrs ago. He took out steering column and wiggled steering wheel and you can hear clunk sound. From the elec motor unit. A number of videos online about the plastic coupler. I made wild assumption I didn’t have the coupler. Turns out I do. ---
