i tried to start my 94 mitsubishi 3000GT and all i heard was a click. i checked the battery and even bought a new one but that was not the problem. i had starter tested and it was fine but replaced starter anyways. the starter never even turns or anything. when i connect the starter directly to the battery it will kick over and start but it wont start when i turn the key. what could be the problem?

i changed out the battery connections but i there is a wire that comes through the fire wall that connects to the cylinoid. i tried to get the wire from the dealership but they have no idea what wire im talking about and it doesnt show it in thier diagrams.
