Hi,

I have a 1999 Ford Ranger (4 cyl)w/stickshift. Somedays it starts fine but other days it stalls when I first start the car. I’ll re-start it and it idles low and feels like it is going to stall but it doesn’t. It also idles real low when I am stopped–sometimes stalling and others not. When I re-start it at the stop I smell gas. Any suggestions?

 Thanks.

You MAY have a leaking fuel pressure regulator.

If that is the case–is it expensive/hard to fix?
