May live in a high altitude state such as Colorado air is less dense at higher elevations, reducing the chance of engine knocking when using a lower-octane gas, so 85 maybe normal there…

Of course, that could also be to low of an octane for a lower altitude and that is piston spatter from slight detonation… I guess time will tell… lol

My bad, the lowest here in Boston is 87 which is what I pump into my 2019 Sienna. Interesting about the line in parenthesis, not sure what it means.

There are 2 methods of measuring octane, called research and motor.
In the US the two are averaged.
