I dropped a small piece of plastic the size of dime into my gas tank yesterday morning. Will it harm it? What should I do? I have a 2010 335 BMW. ---

It was part of the plastic cap of a gas treatment to put in my car. ---

That’s what I thought. I wouldn’t worry about it, it’s resistant to the chemicals in gas. But that’s me. ---

The ‘‘sock’’ filter on the pick up tube will stop it and it will do no harm. ---
