Selling a pickup truck in today's market

(Off subject just for a moment). Recession? We’re in a recession? Geez–the Pres. says that we’re not. He says that our economy is strong. Don’t worry–be happy. Everything’s gonna be just fine. The President of the United States of America wouldn’t be overly optimistic, would he? (Back on subject).

Well, the 4x4 is rated 14/17 and 2wd is 15/18, so it wouldn’t be THAT hard to find a car that gets double the gas mileage.

lets say average of 16 MPG depending on the model and type of driving, that’s 562.5 gallons of gas per year, assuming 9k miles per year assuming $4.50/gallon for gas(if you live in cali, it’s reality), that’s $2531.25 per year on fuel
if he bought something that got 35 MPG, that’s 257 gallons, or $1156.50 per year, saving $1374.75 per year on fuel. If he bought something for $15,000 it would take almost 11 years to fully recover the cost of the new vehicle. that’s not taking into account the insurance rates and such, though insurance may be cheaper for a car than the truck
