# Security system

my 1997 buick lesabre will intermittently not start because the security light is on. After waiting 3 min. it will start. Also, the alarm system will go off for no reason usually in middle of night. Is there any way to disable the system so the doors still lock? I don’t care if the alarms work or not.

There is a way to do anything with enough time and money. Security alarms are a bit difficult to remove sometimes as they can be complex, integrated and after all are designed not to be removed.

If it is OEM then I might suggest the dealer, if it is an after market toy then I would try to find someone who sells and installs that brand. I would want it removed and not repaired if possible.
