Rhythmic Humming Noise at Highway Speeds

Glad it worked out in the end.

Yes, one did. He heard it after a while, but could not tell which part of the car it came from - front or rear. I can’t either. I guess sound travels through the body of the car.

That is why Nevada made the following suggestion:

Here is what Nevada was talking about…

Chassis Ears.

For anyone else I had a slight humming years ago on my aurora. Replaced one front bearing and got a lot better. So I replaced the other one and the noise was completely gone. Since I did my own diag and repairs, it just cost the $100 or so for the part. Sometimes you just make a guess and win or lose.

Eh, mine was more like a whirring! Friend had a four lane setup in his basement.

Thank you, Dave. I could imagine what this device would be like.

But I can’t imagine myself investing that kind of money when professional mechanic probably have it or some other way to find out. As I said, this happened after an accident. My insurance company would cover the repairs, but I don’t think they would pay me to do my own investigation.

I am waiting to find a mechanic, but I am still driving the car. I am curious to know if it is risky to drive.
