Reverse Osmosis water in battery

I have only ever used tap water on the rare occasion it’s been needed with plans to replace the battery and/or get the charging system corrected asap.

Like you I am not a battery expert also like you I have only used tap water when needed maybe half a gallon over 50yr’s

And from the result, they clearly should not, should they?

So what happens in 10 years with respect to car batteries to end that?

We’ll start topping up batteries with crocodile tears.

Or maybe Unicorn spit?

RO water isn’t 98% pure, it likely was more than 99% pure before the RO filtration, sea water is 96.5% percent pure water. RO removes 98% of the impurities is what I think you meant. Essentially water is forced through a membrane with pores so tiny that only the tiny water molecules will fit through. This takes a lot of pressure and the output of the filter is a trickle. It can remove impurities that go right through a still. It can turn sea water into fresh water and filter out odors as well. A still will not remove odors from water.
