# Replacing a filler neck for gas tank

Our filler neck is leaking. Some say it makes a difference if the vehicle is 2 or 4 door. Others say it doesn’t. Please tell me what we need to look for to be sure we have the right piece. We are looking at salvage yards. We have a 1999 Tahoe, 2 door, 4 WD.

Get the repair manual for your car, even a Haynes should be of some help. Otherwise, take a picture of the one you have and compare. Or if your yard has an inventory on line, check to see if they have both, and then take your old part with you to compare. some places, such as Ecology Auto Wreckers have parts interchangeablity lists on their web pages. I hope this is some help.
