How do you repair the antenna on a 2008 VW Rabbit? No am radio and VW wants $500 dollars!

You don’t generally repair antennas, you replace them. Don’t take the car to a VW dealer for a simple repair like this. Take it to any competent independent mechanic or even a car stereo install shop. If this car has the antenna in the windshield, I’d buy a universal mast antenna and drill a hole in the fender to install it.

I think this has the 'Shark Fin ’ type. But any auto stereo shop can handle this. Mustang is correct, this is not a dealer repair.

What will they do for $500?

If there is a metallic window tint film on the rear window is will cause poor reception.
