PS I’d hold of until Honda I hear, starts equipping most of their models with the “Kalifornya” friendly diesels. They plan on jumping over the entire hybrid thing till totally electrics are here…
Yup, the big 2.5 will probably really get committed to hybrids just about the time that fad ends and everyone else is on to the next thing.
The manufacturers do have central control if they choose to exercise it. Boeing has built a considerable business by acting as a systems integrator. I believe that GM and Ford also exercise control over their suppliers. Bad parts translate into excessive replacement costs, and they are cost control fanatics. As they should be.
