I have a 1997 4x4 Chevy Silverado with a blown rear end. It is a ten-bolt with 3.73 gear ratio. I am having trouble locating a used replacement as i live in a rural area and I was wondering if there is an equivalent rear axle that will work on my truck. Perhaps an axle from a Tahoe or Suburban?

It’s the wrecking yards who know the interchanges best. From different years and vehicle types, they are the best source of info.
On a 4x4 the ratio MUST match.
Phone to the big city if your locals aren’t enough help. go to get it or pay freight. ( out here we call Albuquerque, 140 miles away )
