My 2000 6 cyl Stratus has developed a creaking/high-pitched-drumming/rattling or knocking sound from the right front. It happens when I accelerate from a dead stop, and goes away at about 25mph or when I let off the gas. If I accelerate slowly it will not happen, but is worse if I accelerate quickly. It does not happen if I rev the engine in park.

I’m going to suggest a worn transaxle and/or a CV-joint.

To avoid being left stranded when and where you don’t want to be, I also suggest you have this inspected/repaired sooner than later.
