# Question about Convertible Top (1997 Saab 900S)

Hi,  
  
  
  
 I have a 1997 Saab 900S 2dr Convertible and the Tonneau motor for the top is bent. Instead of replacing the motor for over $1000, does anyone have experience or luck with transitioning the automatic top into a manual one? My friend has a VW Passat that this was done to, and it works fine. Saab dealer is telling me it cannot be done, but I am not convinced. Any feedback would be helpful.
