# Pt crusier 2005

What is the maintenance history of this engine?  
If it has been more than 30k miles since you replaced spark plugs, air filter and fuel filter, that would be a good place to start.

If poor maintenance is not responsible, then my next suspect would be a bad Idle Air Control motor (IAC).
