Ties have been found to spread germs in hospitals so they’re stopping physicians from wearing them.

I shave my head myself. Saves a trip to the barber. Have to wear a hat in the sun.

I sold my Vega in 1986, I felt it lasted longer than a cheap car was intended to last.

There are some people today that change their vehicle’s fluids twice as often as necessary in an effort to get ten years out of the vehicle, haven’t the cars improved since 1971?

In the early 1980s I stopped wearing my hair long. The hair on top was about 2” long, and still is today. I have very thick hair and I never could grow it past my shoulders without it sticking out too far. I had a flat top as a child but my parents wouldn’t let me keep it after about 3rd grade. I guess it was more expensive than a regular haircut.

I got a free haircut at fort Jackson in 1970. Been off my ears ever since.

My guess you are talking Army Basic Training. Air Force charged us for our required buzz cut during basic training. Same during tech school, we had to get the haircuts weekly for inspection. But we were allowed to let it grow out and let our mustache s grow.
Once to a regular duty station we could push it out to about three weeks. We could get it fairly long by using lots of dippity-do.

Haven’t gotten a haircut since 1970…

Ever since the pandemic, I have cut my own hair. I could return to the barber at this point, but I’ve gotten so skilled at it that there’s really no good reason to go to the barber.

Should we call you Cousin Itt?

Back in those days it was Mopar or Nocar for me.

I got a hair cut on the las5 day th3=shops were allowed to be open in minnesota. On the second month I found a shop just over the border in Iowa. I planned to drive down there even though the patrol were looking for non authorized travel. I understand the national guard had used rubber bullets for enforcement but I don’t who would have actually don3 that. I remember Kent state. At any rate just as I was to become a criminal. The restrictions were lifted and got my old barber. They call him the ic.

Oh no doubt, I was hard core Mopar or no car, until it became Daimler Chrysler, been down hill ever since, I have never owned a V6/8 OHC engine from Mopar, only V6/8 OHV (push rod) engines…
I now only buy Toyota’s…

But I do give respect where respect is due… and anything small and light weight with a big V8 gets respect, or if it is fast… Doesn’t mean I would own one…
