My '98 Lincoln town car has windows that don’t operate when the temperature is warm out. A mechanic friend helped me take the doors apart and we lubed up the windows so they slid up and down, and a month later were flaky again. What can I do to fix this for good?

Is it one window, all windows, or some particular windows?

All windows have had issues. The left rear usually never works, hot or cold. Right rear is currently working, but that was not the case a month ago. Passenger front works when temp is below about 60 degrees. Driver’s window went down a few years ago but wouldn’t go back up. Was out of town and took to nearest dealer, who fixed it and it has been fine ever since. Right front took to local dealer but it stopped working the following summer, dealer since out of business.
