The four way flashers on my 1999 BMW M Roadster start flashing for no apparent reason. I must depress the emergency button (which turns them on, even though they are already flashing), then toggle the button again to turn them off. Any thoughts out there on this?

It sounds like the switch is the trouble. If you can clean the switch contacts with a spray cleaner it may clear the trouble otherwise you may have to replace the switch.
