# Oil Light

After letting my car sit for six months with no previous problems,I had the oil changed and put in a new battery. Now the oil light comes on while idling or when I slow down. It goes out when I accelerate. What is the problem?

Have you checked the oil level? Some oil lights are both pressure and level.

What car and year? How many miles?

I checked the oil level and its fine. The car is a 1988 pontiac 6000 with 213,000 miles. There was never a problem before I took it off the road six months ago.
