You mean nice, gentle landings or the really hard kind?
Dear Readers:
The mileage is now 3200 and the oil level is 1/2 way between maximum and minimum. Why do some cars measure no oil consumption and mine does?
" Why do some cars measure no oil consumption and mine does?" Mainly because drivers and cars are not all the same.
Driving style, road conditions (summer or winter) etc. all enter into the mix.
Personally, I consider the recommended maintenance schedule as the minimum. Generally I follow the schedule in the owner’s manual. I am old enough to know that back in the “good” old days, engines seldom got the number of miles modern engines with modern oils get today.
I suggest that at long as you meet or exceed what is listed in your owner's manual, you are going to be fine. Don't forget that the recommended schedule is usually ".. which ever comes first"

Isn’t it pretty standard for FI cars to burn a bit of oil?
I hope I don’t have an oil burner. What is FI?
FI is forced induction, i.e. superchargers and turbochargers.
