For all of my cars, I did shop around, and I always payed a fair price
Let me explain why I used the term loser
Many of the cars were very bare bone
Most of them were stick shift, many of them didn’t have power windows or locks, many of them didn’t have ac (or didn’t have working ac towards the end), one of them didn’t even have power steering, etc.
Given the auto industry’s clever marketing, that would mean that those cars I had were for losers
But, as I said, I was never personally ashamed of my cars
However, some people I knew thought I should step up, so to speak
My answer was always “Why? My car is paid off and there’s nothing wrong with it.”
