# New water pump for my '84 Benz

Hi,  
  
  
  
 I inherited my granny’s 1984 Mercedes 380 SL. She’s a BEAUTE. But she’s been making steam lately and the mechanic says it’s a leaky water pump – that costs $1,325 to replace (parts + labor). Before I empty my wallet, what’s your take on this? Any advice?
