Dear Click & Clack, I know that you and your techies have been struggling for a long time to figure out why your microphones burn out about every month or so. Well, I have the answer. It’s your breath, my friends, that wilts and decomposes your microphones. You need a conscientiously applied program of oral hygiene and regular professional care. I just happen to have the solution for you. Will you please welcome to your dangerously over-loaded staff, fresh off the boat from Ireland, your new Irish dental hygienist, Perry O’Dontal.

That’s a good possibility but how can you know that they are not spitting Chianti or even spaghetti sauce into the microphones when they talk?
