There was a story on the news from 30 or 40 years ago about a cargo ship carrying new cars from Japan to the U.S. The ship ran into stormy weather and many of the cars were damaged in some way.  
The Japanese captain was so distraught he committed hari-kari over this.  
The ultimate company man I guess.
