I purchased a certified pre-owned 2006 Cadillac STS (V6 with Performance/Luxury Package). It has the factory issued Michelin MXM4 tires (front: 235/50/17 rear: 255/45/17). Since I’ve owned it has made a higher pitched rubbing noise when the wheel is turned significantly (for example, while turning into my driveway). I thought all along this was a tire issue, but the tire shop said it isn’t and now it’s out of warranty.

What is this sound? Is it normal? Is it worth repairing?

Thanks everyone!

It could be a couple of things. 1. It could be power steering problems (either pump or rack and pinion) 2. wheel bearing. Have a mechanic check it out and yes it is worth repairing.

It could also be something as simple as a tire rubbing on a loose splash ahield or dust shield.
I agree, get it checked out. It’s unlikely to fix itself.
