My tire fell off

I’ll bet you mumbled some rarely used expletives when you discovered that error…

I had brakes done at a local independent shop, they left all four wheels loose…
I discovered after driving a couple of miles because if the awful sound they made.

Ever since that incident, after a couple of weeks of being properly torqued my wheels come loose…I tighten them up by hand with the OE lug wrench (probably over-torquing), they then stay tight until the next time I have the wheels off.

I suspect the cone-shaped seats in the wheels were damaged after driving with the wheels loose (lucky I didn’t strip or break any studs), hard to inspect because the seats are deep in the wheels. Someday, I’ll get around to replacing the wheels (2 or 3 are bent/warped, and they’re ugly wheels), and the studs and nuts.

That shop should have paid for fixing the damage. It may be too late now.
