# My car rattles and engine tend to stall at intersections or at low speed

The problem is intermittance…  
  
  
  
 It stop rattle when I shift the gear to “Neutral”.  
  
  
  
 My car also not very responsive to gas pedal sometimes.  
  
  
  
 My car is a 96 Grand Cherokee 6 cyclinders.

Have the spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, pcv valve, or other stuff, been changed?

If the vehicle is due for normal maintenance items like spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter and pcv valve, the first step is to perform this maintenance before trying to diagnose possible deeper-seated problems. It is entirely possible that the symptoms will disappear once normal maintenance is performed.
