Sounds like an exhaust leak, inspect the exhaust system under the vehicle. Also raise the hood, you might see or hear the problem. ---

Other than wondering about an exhaust leak, the other thought I have is that the two hamsters under the hood have armed themselves with automatics and are at war. But mostly I’m also guessing exhaust leak. ---

Sounds to me like valve tappet noise. ---

Does it sound like you are driving over rumble strips in the road when this sound occurs? If so, Google “torque converter shudder”. Is the symptom consistent with that? ---

George, the OP made a video of the noise with the vehicle not moving, the door open and a bush right in front of the vehicle, don’t think it is the torque converter… ---
