Stop with the stop-leak and other home remedies, and take this car to a reputable independent transmission shop that has been in business for at least three years.

DO NOT take it to Mr. Transmission, AAMCO, Lee Myles, Cottman, or any other chain operation unless you want to be overcharged for more repair than is actually necessary, and for those repairs to be badly done.

Until a competent transmission specialist examines the transmission, nobody can say exactly what is wrong or how much you will be charged. Just be prepared for a bill of $1,500.-$2,000., and if it is less, then you will be very happy.

VDC has it right. However how many miles does the car have on it and what does the fluid look like and smell like?

Check the fluid level first with the engine/trans hot and the vehicle on a level surface. No, there are no adjustments to this transmission. If it is slipping and the fluid level is good, its most likely going to have to come out.
