Great advice above. One other point is to never use your cruise control in snow or on ice–if your car hits a slick spot it can quickly lose control. When the weather gets around 32 degrees F or lower (my cars have thermometers built into them) and there has been moisture on the roads prepare for the possibility of black ice. If your car has a thermometer pay attention to it.
Go up there for a vacation, do some skiing, take the driving class, take a hot air balloon ride, etc. It’s an interesting little town, I try to get up there once or twice a year.
