Have a 2000 cavalier and a 2001 cavalier. Will the motors swap or are there any differences I should know about? Thanks

They’re the same engines.

Should be a plug-and-play replacement.

I’m inclined to agree with tester, however there is a manual that will tell you specifically. I can’t remember the name of it, but boneyards all subscribe to it and can tell you definitively.

We occasionally have reports of problems here with ECM software compatibility on motor swaps from different model years. Suggest you investigate that issue as well… Perhaps you can purchase the used ECM along with the used engine, to give you a back up.

Hollander interchange, I believe

I used to see them at public libraries, don’t know if they still carry that kind of stuff
