Hello everyone,

I found this website by googling the obd2 error code P1498 on my mini cooper.

I found this discussion at this website:

[http://community.cartalk.com/discussion/2280663/2006-mini-cooper-supercharged-5-spd-with-11000-miles-fault-code-1489-vacuum-leak](http://community.cartalk.com/discussion/2280663/2006-mini-cooper-supercharged-5-spd-with-11000-miles-fault-code-1489-vacuum-leak)

I am hoping someone can tell me how to get down to the inlet duct for the supercharger. Do I do it from the top of the car or the underside of the car. There is a lot of stuff in the way topside.

The op of the previous thread, gjd52, got to where I want to go.

Any help on getting to this part would be appreciated.

I still haven’t zeroed in on the cause. It could be many things as it is a vacuum leak. But I think getting down to the intake duct to the supercharger is a good start.

Thank you!
