Mini Cooper Engine Fried: time 2 cry, fix or let go?

I came to the same conclusion in the mid-1970s when I interviewed for a job in lower Manhattan. Renting a space in a garage was as expensive as a one bedroom apartment in most areas. The purchase price of a car, the insurance, and the spot rental were all more than taking a taxi to and from work and plus another taxi round trip in the evening. If I had taken the job, I would have sold my car and taken public transportation instead.

Let it go, but don’t junk it. Find a school that teaches automotive repairs, donate it and take it off your taxes.

At the $4600 price, it’s pretty neutral either way, but may be easier to sell in driveable condition.
