Hi,

I recently bought a 04 Mercedes with a broken transmission shifter, when I got it the first thing I did was buy a new one and installed it.

Now the car won’t let me move the shifter (only 5 minutes after it turns on),I heard the computer needs to be reset so I did the old school thing to leave it overnight with the battery disconnected and didn’t work.

Any recommendations how to reset the computer to accept that new part.?

A Mercedes forum might yield a better response.
