My 2002 Mazda 626 has a vacuum tube that originates at the engine just below the air filter box. It travels up the side of the air filter box, then just hangs lose. I feel a slight suction on the tube while the engine is running.

I can’t see - where it is supposed to attach to (or the purpose). Can you help?

 Thank you!

Have you checked under the hood for the emissions sticker? This usually reflects the vacuum hose routing for emission related components.

Thanks very much - sure enough there is a diagram there on the hood of the car but wasn’t able to determine from the diagram.
