I had the headliner droop on my 1978 Oldsmobile when it was about 20 years old. I found a repair kit at J.C. Whitney for about $10. It consisted of wooden strips that went under the side trim.on either side and would bend into an arch to hold the headliner up. That was my way of dealing with the problem.

Hmmmm. There are a lot bigger problems then a possible headliner failure to worry about.

Man, GM had a huge problem with this in late 70’s early 80s.
