Maintaining Limo Fleet for a Business

Yes, I have had a meeting with the owner of the fleet and had a thorough discussion regarding their requirements and expectations. We discussed the service standards, maintenance, reporting, and response times. This has ensured that our priorities are aligned right from the start and there are no chances of any misunderstandings.

The Record System and how well it is maintained and understood will help you to decide if you want to enter into a Second Contract or even enter into additional contracts and expand your business…

Much has been said about the importance of establishing a good record system so you know what has been done, and what needs to be done…

But since this is your first foray into Fleet management and you have a steep learning curve and a well maintained record systems will ensure your “lessons” are not forgotten..

But Good Records are crucial when drafting a second maintenance and repair contract to prove previous compliance, validate existing warranties, and establish a clear, documented history of service. Detailed records prevent unnecessary repairs, help identify recurring issues for better diagnostic accuracy, and ensure accountability.

"Good Records in Proper Documentation which includes : invoices, inspection reports, and repair logs which act as the official history book for assets.

The Key Reasons for Good Records helps you in deciding if a Second Contract is in your future…

They prove Warranty Compliance that required maintenance was performed, ensuring that new warranty claims are not denied.

They show you your Operational Efficiency and helps you to understand the equipment’s history, preventing duplicated efforts and reducing diagnosis time.

They provide Risk Management & Liability support to document past repairs and the service logs provide evidence to settle disputes, avoid legal issues, and show that equipment was not neglected.

And finally they help you to Control Costs: A detailed history helps accurately scope the new contract, preventing overcharging and ensuring preventive care rather than just reactive, expensive repairs.

If you do decide that you want a Second Contract the records document your expenses so your Bid on the second Contract is based on actual expenses to ensure your Bid allows for a fair profit for you…

There are likely more startling surprises in operating a small business than most would be entrepreneurs ever anticipate and most don’t last through even the first year. But good luck. Those who find success seem to make it look easy for those who don’t and those who choose not to try.

I would really like to hear @Rainflurry’s take on this, IIRC he has done quite a few starts ups and then sold them off over the years, if that is the case, his input should/would be of great value…

I guess he has left the building though as of March of last year…

@cigroller is another good one that left for whatever reason, last seen September of last year…

And before someone (or 2) says it, George didn’t leave, he was here yesterday afternoon as of this post…

LOL. I can’t believe @davesmopar called me out like that. But I appreciate the “good one” comment. Tho’ I suspect that’s less about any brilliant auto commentary I have than a shared love of hard rock music. :sign_of_the_horns:

I didn’t really “leave.” I just have this job…and many of the regulars here will relate b/c I’m an academic - meaning a college prof. There are times you have to go 1000 mph in life. And others…when you can slow down to only 100. September? The Fall semester just started to steam roll me.

Internet discussion boards? “Procrastination station.” I had a busier than usual Fall. Then traveled for the holidays. Now starting spring…gotta go. It’s almost 1AM and I have class in the morning. And I’m supposed to be in charge!

I’ll be back.

(And, btw, I barely read the thread, but it’s not a topic where I’d not have anything useful to say).

Haha!! Yeah every time :sign_of_the_horns:Slipknot :sign_of_the_horns: comes across my speakers, I think, where the Heck has @cigroller been… lol

Good to know you still breathing air instead of dirt, and thanks for checking in, give em heck out there buddy…

Here’s further evidence that “Sophia” and “SJ” are the same person–aside from the fact that they both claim to have the same last name–Smith–and that they are both located in Boston. Supposedly, Sophia is the one who got the maintenance contract for a limo fleet. But, then he/she became confused about which persona they were posting under, as evidenced by the two posts below. First, “SJ” congratulates “Sophia” on landing that maintenance contract, and then he/she responds as if he/she was the one with that contract. “SJ” clearly forgot to respond as “Sophia”. There’s an old saying that might apply here: In order to be a good liar, you have to have a good memory.

@GorehamJ Why is this person allowed to continue his/her duplicity?

Totally fair point you’re making and I honestly enjoyed the detective work.

You went full “string matching forensics” mode here, so yes please accept my nomination for the new badge Master of Conspiracy Theory. At this rate you do not just read posts you run background checks like a budget CIA analyst with a keyboard and too much coffee.

It shows you have nothing valuable to contribute here so you just chase whatever entertains you.

So, you admit that I am correct regarding your badly-done duplicity, but then you choose to verbally attack me. Why not just post a full confession, and then fade away?

You’re connecting dots and calling it proof, but that can go wrong fast. By that logic, anyone with the last name Smith in Boston must be the same person, and next you’ll say it’s Will Smith running the account.

If I was a litle harsh, sorry for that.

That apology comes… a bit late… in the total scheme of things. First, you need to apologize to the forum members for your behavior in this forum over the space of a few weeks. Deceptive posting is not something that people in this forum–or any other legitimate forum–will respect.

You can deny that you were posting under two different personas, but a re-reading of the “exchange” between you and your other online identity makes it quite clear that you were carrying on a dishonest dialogue.

How do you explain “SJ” suddenly becoming the person who had a maintenance contract with a limo company, rather than “Sophia”?

Why would I need to explain this…If I do not have any connections with this person or account, so I don’t find a reson explaining this and taliking on behalf of SJ. I do not know what you guys have with SJ please keep me out of this
