Lowell, Arizona is a treasure trove of old cars

Ours is only 2x a year!

Didn’t think about it until you said 2x a year, I don’t guess we have a HW per say, we have a dop off anything, put it in the correct container (like 10 of them) drop off that is only open twice a week…

Landfill access, yard waste, regular household trash, all included in water bill, no additional fees for use. Starting this fiscal year, bulk pickup (furniture and appliances) is on alternate weeks, large yard waste (tree trunks, limbs and branches that do not fit in yard waste containers) on alternate weeks. No scheduling required.

Yeah anything tree related if out by the road gets picked up free, and this house I am not sure about furniture
and big appliances, although I did see once our neighbor put some furniture by the road and the tree truck came and picked it up… lol
Furniture and what not I just wait for a truck load to take to the dump, they charge by truck load, so it gets put somewhere until ready to go to the city dump, like I said the other house, I think they would pick up a body if thrown out by the road… lol… Trash at the other house pick up is in the yearly city taxes…

What do you care?

See folks?

This is the attitude I deal with, in person as well as online. I care because I like to share my knowledge of such subjects.

Maybe it’s time to dig into the reasons behind such attitudes.

Some people care about cockroaches also and are very knowledgeable about them, but that doesn’t mean others want those people to share their knowledge about them…

So maybe it’s time to dig into the reasons behind those such attitudes…

Just because someone doesn’t care about your passion, doesn’t mean they have an attitude, it just means they don’t share the same passion as you about said passion…

I think that the term “obsession” might be more appropriate in this context.

To be clear: The picture you see on TVs on a showroom wall in a Best Buy or other similar store is programmed to sell the set,

It was not meant for home viewing.

Most manufacturers or retailers will not take the time to explain this to consumers.

As an audio/visual insider, I know this, and like to share such information.

Changing a TV display from store mod to something more accurate is not an “obsession”

Our zoo has an area you walk through that features Madagascar hissing cockroachs, no barriers they are right above you. Clap your hands, they will hiss at you.

Seems to be an obsession, the same few people engage in debate with Chris every time. There are 40 members online each day and most don’t care which type of television others like or how fast they need to drive.

Mine does this for 2 reasons I’ve noticed. Either I’ve been on the internet way too long or the battery is getting down to 30%+/-. Or maybe a combination of both.

Presently my battery’s at 87%, and I try to limit my surfing time to 30min per day, including checking e-mails.

Watching the ghost type these words… 20 seconds after typing them!

Folks who experience a time lag when typing on a tablet or phone are usually running way toooooo many apps in the back ground, or they have filled their device up with photos, music, files, etc…, or they have not updated the operating system on their device, or they are running third party keyboard apps, or well, you name it…

Try this… Save all your photos, music, documents to so off-line place, such as a PC, thumb drive, the cloud, etc… then do a system reset of the phone/tablet… Just be sure you know all your passwords.

Yeah, I was wondering how much free memory is available, and if it was trying to download an update.

Fact is, I just moved into a place where wifi is provided, and…

Wifi icon is full - indicating strong signal

speedtest . net is returning 200mbps or higher download speeds, and the usual 35-50mbps uploads.

iPad has 12gig free out of 64.0g.

On certain forums I experience the lag behind tapping icons or typing.

CarTalk Community I have slight amounts of delay between typing and appearnce of words on screen. DriveAccord, I just tap tap tap and nothing happens for 2 minutes!

Free WiFI is good, sometimes very good, sometimes not so… I hope you are running a Virtual Private Network (VPN) (Google it… so you know if you might be sharing your data with everyone else on your network…). Next, how fast is the router… What service are you sharing (100Mbps, 300 etc…)? Does the provider limit the bandwidth; they might even Throttle your data usage… All things for you to Google and learn about and then ask questions of the provider (your landlord?)

Your WIFI Icon is a Fan and it is not as you say “Full”; if its there your WiFI is active… If not, it’s not… You might have Bars, but that indicates signal strength (usually associated with phone service…) You can have no bars, but still have WiFi…

Your speed test is seemingly OK for Download speed and in most cases, your upload speed is OK too. But check it often to see if it drops off when most of your neighbors are using the Internet in the evening…

Having used only 12GB of storage out of 64GB is good. But my references previously is the difference between Memory (Srorage) and Random Access Memory (RAM). Now, this is where if gets confusing… RAM and Storage are both Memory… But RAM is the temporary, high-speed, volatile workspace your computer/Smartphone/Tablet uses to hold data for active tasks. It is not the same as storage (hard drive/SSD), which is permanent. Your reference to the 64GB is your storage, not your RAM… You need to know how much Free RAM you have, too little and your device turns into a slug…

You need to go into Setup, Device Care/Memory/About Phone or tablet/Device Info and look for RAM or even Memory… You might even have to get it from Apple, but try Googling you iPad info… Then you will know if you really have your device plugged up with trash… You need RAM!!!

Sometimes when you go to a web site, you might have taken a circuitous route, where you are dashed all over the world to make that connection at that time… just reload the site and see if it loads quicker…

When you go to the internet, it’s like telling Billy from the comic strip “Family Circus” he does not take the most direct route… And your internet connection might be just as convolute…

So, to restate it, if your device is slow to respond to your typing, there is something else going on inside your device…

You should turn off and then turn your device back on (not a restart) at least once a week. It clears all the RAM which is the memory your device uses every second it is on… You also have memory that is called storage… this is the permanent memory that your device used to store the files, as in Apps, Music, photos, etc… When your device downloads an update, the update is stored in this memory and then when your install it, it is “expanded” into the RAM and the App is again stored, but permanently in the storage for future use… and then when the downloaded Install program is finished it deletes itself… When your run the App, it is loaded into the RAM and it functions from there. It probably still uses the Permanent Memory (Storage) for temporary use and then releases it when the App is closed…

That is why you need turn the device off every so often to ensure that all those Apps you started have been closed down and all the memory has been released…

Occasionally a wifi icon might look like the first or second from left:

That is a sign of signal strength. I’m sure we’ve all seen these variations on occasion.

I apologize if I was unclear:

That was meant to read as 12-13gig available out of 64. More than the minimum recommended 10 percent (6.4gigs) free.
