Low oil pressure. Is it the timing chain?

A rear main seal or oil pan gasket has no effect on oil pressure.

I can’t imagine removing the camshaft and crankshaft, replacing the bearings and reusing the rear main seal and gaskets. Was all this work really done?

How are you measuring the oil pressure?

Yes all the work was done.i rolled out the bearings…did not remove the cam or the crank shaft that’s how I forgot the rear Maine seal but even doing that still low pressure. One of the piston is rocking back and forth so I believe I need a different size rod bearing. I used a standard last time. If that don’t work oh well time to shop for a new engine.

Well, you know what they say - “Remember the Maine!”

The cam bearings are one piece, the camshaft must be removed before the cam bearings can be pressed out/in.

When replacing crank and rod bearing you must check for under-sized journals by measuring them. If you still have the old bearings check if they are stamped “STD” or with a value like “.010”.

Replacing all of the engine bearings is usually easier with the engine removed. Why were new bearings needed? Was the engine operated without oil? Is the crankshaft damaged?
