in the dark when the light senser turns on the lights, when I use the left turn signal the flasher is real fast and the backup lights blink. This is only in the dark during the day when the senser is off the turn signal works fine.

 Thanks

Replace the left back turn signal lamp. Easy fix.

It doesn’t sound like a filament to filament short to me. It sounds like you have a bad ground on your left rear light assembly.
