The cars in the estimate are 2022s. The new car warranty doesn’t apply. Whether you like the exact numbers isn’t as important as the comparison. A 2022 BMW330i costs a lot more to maintain and repair than a Lexus ES350. In that sense, it’s like the EPA gas mileage estimates. They aren’t intended to tell you what your fuel economy will be exactly, but to compare two or more vehicles you might want to buy. If you have a generally available maintenance and repair cost tool, let me know.
One more thing: using the extended warranty cost might be an excellent way to estimate repair costs. Insurance companies make money selling extended warranty policies. Since there are several in the market, they can’t overestimate costs without losing business.
My 23 truck is still under full manufacture warranty other than the miles and time used, why would a Lexus still not be, as VDCdriver stated, the Lexus bumper-to-bumper warranty runs for 4 years/50k miles, and the Powertrain Warranty runs for 6 years/70k miles.
That I 100% agree with!!! lol
My daughters 2017 Corolla has only had oil changes, wipers and a couple of filters, tires and 1 battery and 1 TPMS sensor, nothing else in a 100,000 miles, so no way has it cost near that much to maintain, That has been the same with all the Toyota’s I have owned, so why is it that Edmunds is saying the average Lexus will cost that much, or better yet, what are they doing for that money, that is what I am asking??..
