When going over bumps and rough rides at speeds above 25mph I hear a clunking noise. The video on the link was taken from outside the vehicle. If I’m sitting inside I only hear a noise when I have the windows open.

Maybe leaf springs? I went into the truck bed and jumped around and couldn’t hear a noise. Truck is a 2022 frontier with 12,000 miles on it.

Had to post on Reddit because this site wouldn’t let me upload a video.

Here’s the rear suspension for your truck.

Maybe a broken sway bar end link.

I mean I’m correct and assuming this isn’t regular suspension noise, right?

If this was bought new by you it should still be in the warranty period . But if not have a shop look at it just in case you have a serious problem .

Agreed with above post… under warranty or not, take it to the dealer or a shop… If it is nothing major the at least you will know…

I’ve be very surprised to see a broken leaf spring on a 2022 model truck.

Agreed with the other advice to take the truck to a mechanic. If the truck is still within factory warranty, definitely go to the dealer.

Yes, you are correct. Not normal noise.

</div>

The good things is that a solid axle with leaf springs is the simplest situation, not that many places for noise to be coming from. Does it make noise if you push down hard on the rear bumper?

It does not. I went into the bed and jumped around and couldn’t hear the noise

A proper diagnosis will require a shop inspection. If you are asking for an internet guess, if not something that has worked loose like the jack, spare tire, tailgate, broken exhaust hanger, etc, I’d focus on a worn or broken bushing for one of the two flimsy looking vertical oriented parts in Tester’s diagram above, colored green.

My truck has this same symptom, broken exhaust hanger.

I heard a noise both when the front and rear wheel went over the bump. Second George’s exhaust system idea.

I think George is on to something, I was just thinking the spare tire might be loose or the tailgate only on the safety (1st) latch and not closed all the way…
