If I was Uber, and my company’s reputation/value/future depended on successful (as in ‘don’t kill anyone’) testing, I would have some way to monitor ‘safety driver’ attention, periodic alerts/tasks, whatever. Just putting them in the car, regardless of the amount of training, wouldn’t be enough. One bad accident, and see what happens.
