More than 1.2 million people die in car collisions each year worldwide. That’s an average of more than 3,200/ day. In the U.S., the number was 37,461 in 2016, or 102.6 per day on average. Until autonomous cars come close to these numbers, this doesn’t compare.

Absent the details in this case, it seems illogical to base conclusions “on past autonomous accidents”.

I specifically said there was a high probability. Never said it WAS the woman who was killed fault. But so far the autonomous vehicles have been pretty safe, and a high percentage of the few accidents they’ve been in have been the result of the other person. This may actually turn out to be the fault of the autonomous vehicle.
